Siemens and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) announced the winners of the inaugural City Climate Leadership Awards at a ceremony held this evening at the Crystal in London. The Awards honored ten cities for excellence in urban sustainability and leadership in the fight against climate change. The winning cities and their award categories are:

The University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre, part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is celebrating the one year anniversary of the installation of the UK’s first MR/PET system, the BiographTM mMR from Siemens Healthcare. The world’s first fully integrated MR and PET scanner has expanded horizons for research to better understand, diagnose and address priority diseases including heart attack, stroke and dementia. It allows for the simultaneous acquisition of MR scans with their excellent anatomical and functional information together with PET scans which can depict cellular activity. Siemens Healthcare, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) University College London Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre and NHS patients have all worked in partnership to drive forward the technological advances that impact on key diseases.

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital, part of the Nuffield Health group, has increased productivity within intraoperative imaging following the installation of an ARCADIS® Varic C-arm from Siemens Healthcare.
