Tunbridge Wells Hospital bolsters vascular and interventional services with Artis zee MP
Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, part of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, has installed an Artis zeeTM Multi-purpose (MP) interventional imaging system from Siemens Healthcare. The system is being used for vascular and interventional work, including stent insertions, joint injections and embolisations. The hospital is benefitting from reference overlay, allowing the precise positioning of stents or interventional devices such as inferior vena cava (IVC) filters. -

Siemens Healthcare MR installation delivers diagnostic confidence at Spire Little Aston
Spire Little Aston, of the Spire Healthcare Group, in Sutton Coldfield has installed a MAGNETOM® Aera 1.5T MR system from Siemens Healthcare. The hospital is now using the system, which replaces a previous generation Siemens MAGNETOM Symphony, for a wide range of MR imaging including neurological, orthopaedic, routine abdominal and cardiac services. -

University Hospital Southampton bolsters Imaging Department through partnership with Siemens
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) has selected Siemens Healthcare to manage a 13-year Imaging Infrastructure Support Service (IISS) partnership. The partnership demonstrates the Trust’s long-term commitment to the Imaging Department in providing excellent levels of patient care using the latest diagnostic equipment. Based on the MES concept, the IISS contract is expected to add additional capacity, allowing the Trust to improve throughput and diagnose and treat increasing numbers of patients. -

AXrEM, the Association of Healthcare Technology Providers for Imaging, Radiotherapy & Care, which represents all major medical imaging manufacturers active in the UK, recently published a statement highlighting its concern about the potential impact of inappropriate deployment of Framework Agreements. These are an alternative procurement channel to full EU procurement competition. Siemens Healthcare today announced its support of AXrEM’s concerns and added to its calls for a transparent and competitive market landscape. -

Siemens Healthcare has developed a revolutionary new X-ray tube and detector technology for its Artis Q and Artis Q.zen angiography systems to improve minimally invasive therapy of diseases such as coronary artery disease, stroke and cancer. Regional trauma centre at Musgrove Park Hospital installs advanced CT system
Musgrove Park Hospital, part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, has installed a SOMATOM® Definition Flash CT system from Siemens Healthcare. The hospital, announced as a regional trauma centre in 2012, is using the system to support its cardiology services, in addition to providing oncology, vascular and general trauma imaging. The Definition Flash is assisting departmental workflow thanks to its rapid imaging times, currently enabling around 250 patients to be scanned weekly. -
