Newcastle-based Siemens Energy Service in partnership with Tyne Metropolitan College has kick started a new targeted programme of outreach activities for local schools and colleagues to raise awareness of engineering as a career for young people.

On Tuesday, 17 December employees at Siemens Power Transmission in Monkton provided a pleasant surprise for Children North East with the donation of over 100 gifts for distribution to local children supported by the local charity.

The interventional imaging system was selected for its dose-saving CARE (Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure) and CLEAR (advanced image post-processing) features, which is delivered as standard, along with its ability to image bariatric patients with ease.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH) in Oswestry, Shropshire has installed an ACUSON S2000™ ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare. The system’s workload is made up of 60% musculoskeletal procedures and 40% GP direct access ultrasound. Sonographers using the system are already beginning to benefit from improved clinical confidence due to the fine detail presented on images.

Eastbourne District General Hospital, part of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, is benefitting from high quality images for enhanced clinical diagnosis following the installation of an AXIOM Luminos dRF™ from Siemens Healthcare. The two-in-one fully digital radiography and fluoroscopy system produces instant images via the fixed 43cm x 43cm detector in the table and the wireless detector.
