Siemens Healthcare has launched a new platform with the potential to change how molecular imaging is performed. The Symbia Intevo™ is the world’s first xSPECT system. It combines the high sensitivity of single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) with the high specificity of CT, completely integrating the data from the two modalities, to generate high resolution and, for the first time, quantitative images. Siemens team beats fundraising target for local hospice in Cumbria
Siemens Subsea based in Ulverston, Cumbria has joined forces with 25 other businesses in the local region to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of St Mary’s Hospice. St Mary’s is asking businesses to support its ‘Club 25’ fundraising initiative for 2013 to raise £25,000 for the Hospice, By committing to raise £1,000 each, Siemens and other businesses can help reach the target. North Durham enhances interventional procedures with low dose imaging system
University Hospital of North Durham (UHND), part of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, has recently installed an Artis zeeTM Multi-purpose (MP) interventional imaging system from Siemens Healthcare. The system is located within the Radiology Department and is being used for detailed imaging in diagnostic and interventional procedures. -

World Cup winner and Manchester City FC player, Patrick Vieira, cut the ribbon to reveal the new technology which now includes the addition of an Artis zee™ ceiling-mounted system from Siemens Healthcare. The technology is expected to deliver improved productivity, excellent image quality and more efficient dose reduction measures to the benefit of both staff and patients. -

Wide Bore MR system provides new patient services at Wishaw General
Wishaw General Hospital, part of NHS Lanarkshire in Scotland, has recently installed a MAGNETOM® Aera MR system from Siemens Healthcare. It is hoped the new system will expand patient services to include gynaecology imaging and volume scans of the head. It will also continue to provide standard procedures along with neurology, musculoskeletal, Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) and liver imaging.
