The company is looking to maximise talent within the organisation by offering a combination of theoretical and vocational study, providing individuals the opportunity to develop in-demand skills and gain a professional qualification. -

Siemens MR technology supports broad range of services at King’s Mill Hospital
King’s Mill Hospital, part of the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has installed a MAGNETOM® Aera 1.5T MR system from Siemens Healthcare. The hospital is using the system, which replaces a previous-generation system, for a broad range of imaging including neurological and orthopaedic procedures. The hospital also hopes to expand services in the future to include cardiac and breast imaging. -

Siemens provides first glimpse of ACUSON Freestyle in clinical use at LSORA EBPOM
Siemens Healthcare recently demonstrated the ACUSON FreestyleTM wireless ultrasound system at the London Society of Regional Anesthesia’s (LSORA) Evidence Based Peri-Operative Medicine (EBPOM) 3rd London Workshops for Regional Anaesthesia. The system was put to clinical use for the first time in the UK with delegates able to explore the new system and take part in hands-on sessions involving accurate ultrasound-guided needle placement on a variety of models. -

Siemens UK launch first Junior Factory for apprentices
Siemens is opening the first Junior Factory for apprentices at its award winning facil-ity in Congleton, launching during the Government’s flagship ‘Tomorrows Engineers Week’. The facility will be opened by UK and Ireland Chief Executive Roland Aurich on the 7th of November and will act as a ‘small factory within a factory’ run by a mix-ture of commercial and technical apprentices aged 16 to 21. -

Siemens earns 5 star recognition at 2013 Excellence Awards
At a presentation ceremony in London earlier this month, traffic technology company Siemens based in Poole, Dorset was honoured as one of three finalists for the 2013 UK Excellence Award presented annually by the British Quality Foundation to recognise business performance improvement. The company’s score measured against Europe's most widely used management framework, the EFQM Excellence Model increased substantially, earning Siemens a 5 star Recognised for Excellence standard. -

Rail depot open day raises £thousands for charity

Siemens Study: By 2030, worldwide power sector could cut CO2 emissions by amount equivalent to EU's total annual emissions
Global power demand is set to increase on average by nearly 3 percent per year over the current and next decade. Cumulatively, this moderate growth will cause overall power demand to rise by more than half of its current level between now and 2030. If new power plants are added as foreseeable, associated CO2 emissions are likely to increase by a quarter or 3,500 megatons. -

Siemens enhances its footprint in Scotland with new office in Livingston

The new office in Livingston was opened by Fergus Ewing MSP, Scottish Government Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.
