Marine Current Turbines completes endurance testing at the National Renewable Energy Centre
The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult’s (ORE Catapult), National Renewable Energy Centre has completed a multi-axis onshore endurance test programme on Siemens-owned Marine Current Turbines’ (MCT) first 1MW powertrain (gearbox, generator and power conditioning equipment) using the 3MW tidal turbine drive train testing facility. -

Siemens Receives System Acceptance for Latest RailCom Manager Release
Siemens Rail Automation has received full System Acceptance from Network Rail for the latest release of their RailCom Manager platform, which facilitates the control of IEC61850 devices within an automated substation. This follows the successful completion of an upgrade of the SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) traction power control system at Network Rail’s integrated electronic control centre in York earlier this year. -

St Thomas’ Hospital boosts ERCP procedures with UK’s first Large Display Artis zee MP
St Thomas’ Hospital, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, has installed an Artis zeeTM Multi-purpose (MP) system from Siemens Healthcare into its new state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit. The interventional imaging system is the first in the UK to be installed with a large 56-inch full colour screen. During the installation, Siemens worked closely with the hospital and other providers to supply a fully integrated solution. All the image signals are managed by the Siemens Large Display controller to provide a versatile display and integrate fully with the hospital’s impressive facilities. -
