Operating Department staff believe the ACUSON P300 is benefitting patient comfort and leading to faster recovery times in comparison to previous methods used. As a result, patient turnover has been increased in the 40 bed hospital. The team have also commented on the system’s excellent image quality which allows fine detail to be viewed.
The P300 offers high image quality for both routine and specialty applications and has 13 multi-frequency transducers including specialty laparoscopic and intra-operative probes for interventional procedures. The system provides advanced image optimisation tools such as panoramic imaging, speckle reduction and spatial compounding, which optimise imaging data automatically, thus improving diagnostic confidence and supporting clinical workflow.
“We are delighted to expand the services available to patients to include endovenous and central venous procedures due to the installation of an ACUSON P300,” states Michael Carson, Operating Department Practitioner at Spire Elland Hospital. “Previously we would use a nerve stimulator which could be uncomfortable for the patient and was not always 100% accurate. The P300 from Siemens Healthcare is aiding ease-of-procedures for staff and quicker recovery for patients.”
“The ACUSON P300 is ideal for Spire Elland’s needs and its portability means it can be easily transferred between the two theatres,” states Peter Downing, Regional Sales Manager at Siemens Healthcare. “The small footprint of the technology, alongside its portability, excellent image quality and broad spectrum of applications will benefit staff and patients alike.”
