Siemens welcomes its latest apprentices in the North of England
Siemens Subsea in Ulverston, Cumbria is proud to host for the second year running the welcome programme for the latest crop of apprentices. These new apprentices will join Siemens businesses across the North of England, including Ulverston, Manchester, Leeds and Congleton. Siemens Subsea is also taking on a record 16 apprentices this year. The apprentices will all start in September. -

The annual survey aims to improve healthcare technology delivery by honestly, accurately, and impartially measuring vendor performance. TfL awards new maintenance contracts to Siemens
Two new Traffic Control Maintenance Services contracts have been awarded to Siemens by Transport for London. Commencing October 2014, Siemens will maintain traffic control equipment in the North and North-east London regions, representing two of the five contracts that will see London’s traffic signals upgraded to the latest, energy-saving technology, as well as expanding the use of intelligent traffic signals and new crossings for pedestrians and cyclists. Worth in total around £317m for up to eight years, the five contracts cover over 6,200 traffic signal sites, 149 variable message signs (VMS) and 56 over-height vehicle detectors across the capital. -

New CT technology advances capability at Nottingham City Hospital thanks to charitable community donation
Nottingham City Hospital, part of the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, has chosen a SOMATOM® Definition AS+ system to bolster its CT department and enhance patient care during imaging procedures. The system procurement was facilitated by a member of the community, James Redgate, who left a donation to Nottingham Hospitals Charity in his will. The system is imaging up to 30 patients per day, and staff have reported that the simple and well laid out user interface enhances workflow.
