Siemens workshop enhances diagnostic confidence and workflow efficiency within ultrasound
Siemens Healthcare recently hosted a series of echocardiography and workflow efficiency workshops across the UK. Using live demonstrations of the ACUSON SC2000TM, delegates were able to discover how continuous volume imaging can improve diagnostic confidence and workflow efficiency. The workshops were held in Glasgow, Manchester and London and saw experts in the field of echocardiography speak to delegates including consultant cardiologists and cardiology surgeons. -

As dementia rates continue to rise in the UK, The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is proud of its fight in aiding early diagnosis of the condition with the help of its Symbia® TruePoint SPECT•CT system from Siemens Healthcare. Patients from all across the North West of England are referred to the hospital with memory problems where they can be tested using various Nuclear Medicine imaging methods. Since the installation of the Siemens SPECT•CT system 5 years ago, the hospital has conducted over a thousand brain scans, helping to identify Alzheimer’s as early in its development as possible. -

Salford Royal responds to rise in obesity with dignified bariatric care
According to figures published by Public Health England1, 64% of people in England are overweight or obese. With obesity on the rise, hospitals across the country are adapting to provide equal care for bariatric patients. Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is leading the way in responding to the rise in obesity in the North West region, where the figure for obesity is 66%. The hospital recently installed an Artis zeeTM Multi-purpose (MP) from Siemens Healthcare which is now having a positive impact on bariatric patients who require interventional imaging. -

Marine Current Turbines completes endurance testing at the National Renewable Energy Centre
The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult’s (ORE Catapult), National Renewable Energy Centre has completed a multi-axis onshore endurance test programme on Siemens-owned Marine Current Turbines’ (MCT) first 1MW powertrain (gearbox, generator and power conditioning equipment) using the 3MW tidal turbine drive train testing facility. -
