Aston Brain Centre improves spine image quality and consolidates musculoskeletal leadership with enhanced MR system
Aston Brain Centre at Aston University in Birmingham has upgraded its MAGNETOM® Trio MR system from Siemens Healthcare to the advanced capabilities of the MAGNETOM Trio Tim 3T in order to offer improved image quality for the benefit of its research on functional and anatomical brain connectivity using volumetric MR imaging and DTI studies. The centre, an integrated research environment for the study of neurodevelopment in health and disease, expects the enhancements to assist from both a clinical and research perspective. -

Siemens announces Green Port Hull improvements
After consulting with our partners Associated British Ports, Siemens has announced plans to incorporate a leaner, more efficient wind turbine blade manufacturing facility at Green Port Hull, by developing on a single site at Alexandra Dock in Hull. The commitment to create 1,000 direct jobs through the £310 million investment on the Humber is unchanged. -

Blackpool Victoria Hospital increases patient throughput with help from five Ysios
Blackpool Victoria Hospital has been able to increase patient throughput with the help of five Ysio® X-ray systems from Siemens Healthcare. Two of the systems have been installed in the hospitals A&E department, with a further two installed in the Outpatient Department. These are performing orthopaedic procedures such as spine and leg alignment work. A fifth Ysio system is also in place in the Cardiac Department. -

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary focuses on faster processes for vascular procedures
NHS Grampian's largest hospital, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), has dedicated resources into making its vascular procedures non-invasive and friendlier for its patient community that spans the cities of Aberdeen right up to the Highlands and Islands. The installation of an ACUSONTM P300 portable ultrasound system and an ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare have negated the need for patients to have a CT or MR scan for various vascular procedures. This means there is no dose impact, therefore minimising risk for patients and staff alike. -

A hospital in East Lancashire is now providing a more comfortable experience to patients undergoing SPECT•CT imaging as a result of the installation of a Symbia™ T Series SPECT•CT system from Siemens Healthcare. Royal Blackburn Hospital, part of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, recently introduced the new system that will be responsible for a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures. -

Castle Hill Hospital first in UK to implement latest PET-CT technology from Siemens
Castle Hill Hospital, part of Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, has recently opened The Jack Brignall Scanning Centre. The facility is the first in the UK to be fitted with a Biograph mCT Flow EdgeTM PET·CT system from Siemens Healthcare which has been funded by Hull-based charity, The Daisy Appeal. Opened by former Secretary of State for Health, Baroness Virginia Bottomley, the system is being used to conduct mostly oncological work in addition to infection scanning, vasculitis and clinical research.
