Pall Mall Medical, a private diagnostic and surgical centre in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, has recently installed three new medical imaging systems from Siemens Healthcare. The MAGNETOM® Aera MR, SOMATOM® Emotion CT and Multix Select DR systems will allow the centre to provide a holistic diagnostic service provision to its patients. The centre, which provides full day care diagnostic facilities and 12 beds, will have the systems in use seven days a week.
“We are delighted to expand our diagnostic provision with three Siemens Healthcare systems. We have a great relationship with Siemens and look forward to working with them in the future,” states Dr Sanjay Pitalia, Co-founder and Director of Pall Mall Medical. “Staff have commented on the ease-of-use of the systems and in particular the excellent image quality of the MAGNETOM Aera.”
The MAGNETOM Aera, chosen for its excellent image quality and top of the range specifications, features a 70cm bore with a short system design for high patient comfort and ease of access. The system will be used for general MR imaging along with sports injuries. The system’s detachable table and Tim® 4G integrated coil technology are assisting with ease-of-use. This has been facilitated further with the system’s user-friendly interface and syngo® applications.
The SOMATOM Emotion system will be used in the areas of colonoscopy, cardiac and general CT. The Emotion delivers high-end image quality and maintains a low dose through the Ultra Fast Ceramic (UFC)™ Detector. The Multix Select digital X-ray offers a full spectrum of general and specialised procedures and will be used for general X-ray, chest and musculoskeletal work. The system provides head to toe coverage and a comprehensive weight capacity.
Philip Tesh, Regional Sales Manager at Siemens Healthcare states, “Pall Mall Medical is dedicated to providing an efficient and holistic experience for its patients in this new purpose built state of the art facility. Siemens is pleased to be working in partnership to enhance this. The trio of new imaging systems is already having an immediate positive effect on the services available at the centre.”
