A team of over twenty apprentices from Siemens and the South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance took part in a two-day team-building event at Swanage Railway, dismantling a Class 101 DMU (diesel multiple unit) before it is scrapped.

University Hospital of North Durham, part of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, has recently installed an Artis zeego™ multi-axis system from Siemens Healthcare. The system is integral to the North East’s only endovascular hybrid theatre, allowing clinicians to treat patients with vascular problems in a minimally invasive way to improve quality of care.

Nevill Hall Hospital, part of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, has become the first hospital in the UK to install a SOMATOM® Definition Edge CT system from Siemens Healthcare. The addition of the new system has enabled the hospital to enhance image quality whilst keeping doses to a minimum, allowing for the delivery of rapid and effective diagnostic services.

Pall Mall Medical, a private diagnostic and surgical centre in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, has recently installed three new medical imaging systems from Siemens Healthcare. The MAGNETOM® Aera MR, SOMATOM® Emotion CT and Multix Select DR systems will allow the centre to provide a holistic diagnostic service provision to its patients. The centre, which provides full day care diagnostic facilities and 12 beds, will have the systems in use seven days a week.

Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, part of NHS Lothian, has ordered a ceiling-mounted Artis zeeTM interventional imaging system and a MAGNETOM® Aera MR system from Siemens Healthcare to bolster its imaging services. The technology was procured as part of the NHS Lothian imaging equipment replacement programme, meeting the continued requirement to provide optimal diagnostic imaging to patients.

Siemens in Lincoln is investing in a new fleet of bespoke vehicles for gas turbine service operations as part of its service strategy focused on delivering ever better service for its customers. The first three vehicles designed for Siemens by QI Van Systems will be deployed from the end of this month in the Lincoln gas turbine service business for use by the field service team.
