Siemens to take on 160 new apprentices in the UK
Siemens has announced that in September 2012 its intake of UK apprentices will be 160, double the figure hired last year. For the first time in decades the number of new UK apprentices at the firm is now higher than that of graduates. Graduate intake has remained steady at around 100 per year. Siemens is now recruiting similar levels of apprentices in the UK compared to Germany where the company has its global headquarters and an established, strong culture of apprenticeships. -

Siemens purchases MaXccess system to ensure safe access to offshore wind turbines and reduce the cost of energy
Siemens has purchased the very first MaXccess system to improve the safe transfer of service specialists onto offshore wind turbines. MaXccess was designed by OSBIT Power Ltd and has been tested by a strategic alliance of Siemens, OSBIT Power, Statoil and Fred Olsen Windcarrier to establish the effectiveness of the design. -
