New clinical research software from Siemens Healthcare paves the way for innovative CT techniques in the UK
Siemens Healthcare has launched syngo®.via Frontier, a new innovation in CT clinical imaging research. The advanced software solution provides direct access to new research prototypes, delivers the means for individual prototype development and enables users to obtain access to an international online community and share experiences with fellow researchers. This paves the way for hospitals and research facilities in the UK to evaluate a greater number of new CT techniques and contribute to international scientific discussion. It can also be used for the development and testing of MR prototypes. -

Royal Shrewsbury Hospital improves patient experience and expands cardiac services with Siemens CT technology
Following an increase in patient referrals, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, part of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, has expanded its CT provision. To improve patient experience and streamline services the hospital sought to add a further imaging system to the CT department and upgrade the existing one. This resulted in the recent installation of a SOMATOM® Definition AS+ 128 slice CT system and the planned installation of a Definition AS 64 slice CT system from Siemens Healthcare. -

Siemens receives order for offshore wind power
Siemens has received a further order for an offshore wind power plant located in Great Britain: Siemens is to supply, erect and commission 91 of its 6MW direct drive wind turbines with performance enhancing features enabling a capacity of up to approx. 580 MW in total. The wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 154 meters are slated for the Race Bank project of DONG Energy. Installation of the turbines is to commence during the spring of 2017. -
