Siemens, working closely with infrastructure provider Network Rail and train operating company Govia Thameslink Railway, has completed the latest upgrades to its Hornsey traincare facility, constructing a fully integrated depot signalling system and an innovative depot personnel protection system (DPPS) to create optimum levels of safety for those working on site.

Over 300 service operatives and engineers responsible for installing and repairing traffic equipment across the country have been equipped by Siemens with new bespoke tablet devices.

Siemens has awarded a four-year Crane Framework Agreement to UK-based heavy-lift specialist ALE for the supply and deployment of cranes, specialised transport equipment and personnel. 24 May 2016: Thameslink is this morning (Tuesday) set to showcase the future of commuting when it unveils the spacious new Siemens Class 700 Thameslink train at Blackfriars station.Fifty per cent longer than almost every train in the Thameslink fleet, the train on show to media and stakeholders can carry up to 1,750 people seated and standing – the equivalent of 21 double-decker buses – and will be running on many routes to London from Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
