Storm Arwen puts Siemens Service Agreement with Viridor ERF to an extreme test
- Storm Arwen took the roof off a substation and damaged the switchgear at a Viridor Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) at Dunbar, Scotland
- With the substation out of action, power production by the ERF had to stop as it could not be exported to the grid
- A few months into a new long-term service level agreement and maintenance contract, Siemens was called out and worked through atrocious weather conditions for six days to identify the damage, carry out repairs and get the substation back online
