Ade Ford, Head of Sales for Civil Enforcement, commented: “The meeting will provide our customers in the civil enforcement community with the opportunity to share current issues and future requirements and hear what Siemens is doing to solve a range of road safety and civil enforcement problems for its users.
“As part of the event, we are proud to be presenting our latest, innovative traffic enforcement solutions. These new technologies support our continued growth in the traffic enforcement and low-emission markets.”
Currently deployed across London, LaneWatch Mk3 is the latest unattended moving traffic enforcement camera, designed to provide wireless, automatic enforcement of yellow box junctions and other moving traffic enforcement. The LaneWatch range of cameras can use automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and/or video analytics to detect and identify vehicles in contravention. Compact and lightweight, the cameras can be installed on existing street furniture, reducing installation and relocation costs as well as timescales.
Other additions to the enforcement range are the LaneWatch SKC and TrafficWatch PTZ cameras.
The LaneWatch SKC is a version of the LaneWatch Mk3 specifically developed for the automatic detection and identification of vehicles parking / stopping on a school zig-zag during enforcement hours. Video analytics detect the stopped vehicle and ANPR identifies the vehicles number plate automatically.
The TrafficWatch PTZ is an attended parking enforcement camera designed for rapid deployment and relocation outside schools, bus stops, red-routes or any other traffic enforcement / management need. Cameras communicate in real-time with PC-based software that allows the operator to move the camera and capture contraventions. By using the 3G/4G cellular network, cameras and operators can be located anywhere in the UK. Also, being a discreet form of enforcement, driver behaviour change is brought about by the issue of penalty charge notices rather than the temporary change experienced when using mobile enforcement vehicles.
The Crystal, the venue for the event, is an initiative from Siemens that explores how we can create a better future for our cities and is home to the world's largest exhibition focused on urban sustainability. The Crystal offers a unique educational experience and an opportunity for visitors to explore the major trends and challenges facing cities today.
