For Siemens, Head of Consultancy Services, Martin Andrews said: ‘As principal contractor, Siemens provides a management service and full operational support on a day-to-day basis to Southend-on-Sea‘.
Hosted UTC-SCOOT removes the need for local authorities to maintain their own office based hardware and brings benefits of scale, improved security and resilience to the system. As part of the new service, Siemens will provide assistance in the analysis of UTC operations and contribute to the development of strategic operational plans as well as analyse and rectify system faults remotely.
For SOSBC, Richard Backhouse, Team Leader - Major Projects Team, said: ‘Siemens supports SOSBC’s UTC operational objectives by performing the services and provision of support and assistance as required, including a design and consultancy service for all aspects of UTC.
Siemens provides the UTC solution, operable from any location via a Siemens hosted system. The consolidation of traffic control infrastructure will lead to a significant year on year revenue saving as well as improving system reliability, by providing all traffic signals engineers full access to all traffic signal systems.
Siemens will be showcasing its cloud-based Stratos traffic management solution at Traffex 2015 (NEC, Birmingham: 21-23 April) alongside new and established products from its extensive range of traffic management solutions.
