Siemens wins new order with Velocita in Scotland

Siemens has announced the signing of a new order with AOE Windfarm Limited (a subsidiary of Velocita Energy Developments) at Ardoch and Over Enoch in Scotland for 5 x 2.3-93 WTGs with 63.3m hub height towers, a total tip height 110m. Siemens will also provide a long-term service and maintenance agreement helping to ensure the continued productivity, reliability and availability of the turbines.

Whitelee wind farm near Glasgow, one of the largest developments in Europe, which includes Siemens wind turbines.

This is the second contract to be signed with Velocita following the Maerdy wind farm order last year in Wales. The farm is located next to the neighbouring Whitelee wind farm near Glasgow, one of the largest developments in Europe, which includes Siemens wind turbines.

Alan Baker from Velocita said:

Turbine deliveries will commence through the port of King George V, Glasgow, in mid- 2014 and the wind farm is due for completion by Autumn 2014.
