Siemens to build additional trains for south west network

Adair Turner appointed to Siemens Holdings plc as non-executive director

Siemens has announced the appointment of business leader, academic and pensions expert, Adair Turner, as a non-executive board member at Siemens Holdings plc.

Alan Wood, chief executive, Siemens plc, said: “I am delighted to welcome Adair Turner to our board as a non-executive director. His extensive experience in business, industry and public policy combined with his expertise in pensions, will be a tremendous asset to our company.

"Siemens has doubled its turnover in the UK in the last decade and we continue to grow,” said Wood. “In 2005, we derived 52 per cent of our revenue from services and we see growth opportunities in key infrastructure sectors such as energy, construction, communications, healthcare and transport.”

Lord Turner of Ecchinswell further strengthens the Siemens Holdings board which comprises executive directors: Alan Wood CBE, Christoph Urban, Tom White, Günter Dombrowe and Johannes Feldmayer.
