Siemens ramps up HS2 activity

Siemens has announced two senior members of its HS2 rolling stock bid team, Jo Hensher as Bid Director and Kevin Clark as Head of Maintenance. Together they will be responsible for leading the business’ team for the HS2 rolling stock contract.

Jo Hensher and Kevin Clark will lead the company’s HS2 rolling stock bid team

Jo Hensher joined Siemens in 2010 as part of its UK Business Development team, where she led cross-business market and strategy projects, including the development of The Crystal, a sustainable cities initiative. Jo joined Siemens Rail Systems in 2013 as a member of the sales team, and has been responsible for the development of the business’ strategy and chairing the cross-Siemens HS2 Focus Group.

In her role as Bid Director, HS2, Jo will lead on activity geared towards the successful acquisition of the HS2 rolling stock and associated maintenance opportunity. This will cover all aspects of the bid from business development to the preparation of the proposal, plus the performance of the relevant negotiation, up to the conclusion of contracts.

Kevin Clark joined Siemens in 2009 as a Maintenance Manager on the TransPennine Express project. He was subsequently made a Fleet Delivery Manager in 2014, where he oversaw the electrification and extension of the Ardwick depot in Manchester and the introduction of the Class 350/4 Fleet. Kevin has extensive experience in the rail industry, having previously worked in business development for Bombardier.

In his role as Head of Maintenance, HS2, Kevin will lead all rolling stock maintenance work streams across all phases of the bidding process. He will be responsible for setting out the proposed maintenance strategy for the new rolling stock to cover the its whole life.
