Siemens Rail Automation Appoints New Managing Director

Siemens announced today that Rob Morris has been appointed Managing Director of its Rail Automation business in the UK, with effect from 1 December 2017.

Rob joined Siemens in January 2015 and is currently Director of Operations, where he has responsibility for the execution of all the company’s rail signalling, digital rail and automation projects across the UK, working closely with Network Rail, London Underground and Crossrail.

Given his many years’ industry experience, I know he will hit the ground running and that under his leadership, our business will continue to go from strength to strength. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Paul Copeland who has successfully led the company for the last four years and to wish him well in his retirement.”

With a career in industry spanning four decades and bringing a wealth of experience to the role, Rob has previously been involved in a wide range of high-profile infrastructure projects, across the rail, nuclear, aviation, power and energy and oil and gas sectors. Rob will be based at the company’s Chippenham site, the only major manufacturing and research and development facility for signalling and control systems in the UK.
