Oxford employees complete garden project for local school

Frimley, 2010-Sep-01

Employees at Siemens Magnet Technology, based in Eynsham, Oxford, have recently donned their gardening gloves and completed a new garden area at Orchard Meadow Primary School on Wesley Close.

A previously unused concreted area at the school has been transformed into a fantastic new courtyard area, including a greenhouse, water feature, bedding and decking areas as well as a colourful wall mural.

Steve Quick from Siemens Magnet Technology, said: “From the whole project team, it was a pleasure for us to be involved in this project and we hope that all the teachers and children at Orchard Meadow School enjoy the garden as much as we enjoyed creating it.”

A number of other generous companies helped provide essential equipment for the project. MGLinear supplied the decking, electrics, green house and the water feature; AMS provided the beds, soil, stone chippings, plumbing and trellis and MC2 supplied a mural banner, designed by Rob Beasley. Plants were donated by Homebase (Botley), Cassington Nurseries, Ashridge Trees, Yarnton Nurseries and Sarah Thornback.

The garden project was part of Siemens Caring Hands initiative in which Siemens employees take part in volunteering, fundraising and social giving. For more information visit www.siemens.co.uk
