This comes shortly after an announcement by Siemens that it is to invest more than £80 million and create 700 new jobs in a new UK-based wind turbine production facility.
The forum, developed in association with the Masdar Initiative of the Abu Dhabi Government and supported by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), is bringing leading renewable powerhouses together with pan-European and international policy makers for three days of highly anticipated debate and business.

Continuing in the footsteps of its parent event the World Future Energy Summit held annually in Abu Dhabi, this European spin-off is set to take London by storm this October with a full plenary day of world leaders and policy makers from the developed and developing world on October 19th; followed by a two-day technical programme including new sessions on off-shore wind, the grid and risk.
One of the most hotly anticipated sessions will be the off-shore wind session, chaired by Alan Lowdon, Head of Research and Development, NAREC. Key issues and challenges to be discussed include:
- where will the industry be by 2020 and where by 2050?
- Technology Proving: what is the latest update on research, development and deployment
- Maintenance, life cycle costing and decommissioning
- Energy transportation to the grid
- Logistics and facilities management
- Futuristic asset management models
The forum will include exciting interactive features including the Siemens Green Technology Theatre, The Future Urban Zone, The Eco Transport Showcase, The Recruitment Zone and Building the Olympics as well as an exhibition of 200 companies and 150 roundtable sessions.
