  • Modern office space will facilitate collaboration and innovation among Scottish colleagues.
  • New office reflects the company’s commitment to supporting Scotland’s vision of a more sustainable railway.

Siemens Mobility has officially opened its new Glasgow office, which is based in Atlantic Square at the heart of the city’s business and financial district. The company currently employs more than 250 people in Scotland, including at its depots at Gogar in Edinburgh and in Cambuslang and Shields. The new office location will bring employees together as they work towards making Scotland’s railways more sustainable, inclusive, safe and accessible to all.

Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Transport said: “The opening of Siemens Mobility's brand-new office in Glasgow is an excellent example of further investment in rail in Scotland. Enabling a number of highly-skilled jobs within Scotland will drive forward economic development and help play a crucial part in achieving a greener and more sustainable rail network in Scotland.”

Rob Morris, Joint CEO of Siemens Mobility in the UK & Ireland said: “This new office is a sign of our commitment to supporting Scotland’s vision of a more sustainable, inclusive, safe and accessible transport system for everyone. Having a future-fit office in the heart of the city will enable us to meet the growing needs of Scotland’s railway even more efficiently.”

Located at 2 Atlantic Square, a few minutes’ walk from Glasgow Central station, the office provides flexible work zones where teams can come together and collaborate in person or virtually. Designed with employee wellbeing in mind, it also features gym-style showers with changing rooms, complementary towels and toiletries, bike storage and a parcel hub.

Siemens Mobility is committed to minimising its environmental footprint and chose the Atlantic Square office building for its BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A’ certifications. Other sustainability credentials include solar panels, energy-efficient LED lightning, 100% renewable electricity sources and a rainwater harvesting system.

Siemens Mobility is transforming everyday journeys for passengers across Scotland and keeps people and freight moving across the country from the first to last mile, providing significant infrastructure works, technical support and train maintenance. This announcement is the latest in the company’s series of investments in the UK, including a £200 million Goole Rail Village and £100 million in a new signaling and control facility in Chippenham.
