Siemens Mobility has once again played a major role in supporting Goole Pride, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to the local community.
Last month’s Goole Charity Cricket Day raised £1000 for the event. An additional £1000 was donated by Siemens Mobility to further support the celebrations.
Goole Pride was kicked off at West Park Parkrun, where about 230 people, including Siemens Mobility team members, took part in walking, running, and volunteering to demonstrate their pride and allyship.
Afterwards, the official event commenced early afternoon, in Goole’s Victorian Market Hall.
Colleagues and community members had their pride on display by dressing in all colours of the rainbow. Siemens Mobility’s Rail Accelerator and Innovation Solutions hub for Enterprise (RaisE) building, which is a collaboration between three key stakeholders: Siemens Mobility, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and the University of Birmingham, also dressed for the occasion. Team members filled the RaisE building with LGBTQIA+ flags to demonstrate the ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Natalie Thornton, Operations Support Manager for Siemens Mobility in Goole, said:
“We’re proud to support Goole Pride for a second year running.”
“Here at Siemens Mobility, we embrace diversity and the value it brings to our teams, we want to create the space for every employee to be able to bring their whole selves to work and be able to reach their full potential.
“It was fantastic to see so many team members taking part throughout the day. Some of us took part in Parkrun, we had volunteers handing out goodies and we enjoyed the wonderful performances and celebrations.”
The event, primarily organised by Goole’s LGBTQIA+ youth groups, was officially opened by Councillor Anne Handley at Goole’s Market Hall. A packed and colourful programme of music, entertainment and performances filled the day.
Goole Museum celebrated Autism Pride, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility on the day, by creating a safe and quiet space for anyone who required it.
