As part of its ongoing mission to increase Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans (LGBT+) visibility and celebrate those within the community, Siemens Mobility was a headline sponsor of this year’s Chippenham Pride Festival.
The festival took place at Monkton Park, with about 5,000 people in attendance. It featured a colourful walk through the town centre and all-day entertainment, including live performances, a cabaret stage, and a wide range of stalls offering food and drinks.
Chippenham Pride also served as a platform for awareness with talks and presentations by various organisations and local LGBTQ+ students. These discussions shed light on important issues and provided valuable resources for the community.
Rob Morris, Joint CEO for Siemens Mobility UK & Ireland said: “At Siemens Mobility, we believe that diversity is a strength, and we are proud to have sponsored this year’s Chippenham Pride. Everyone deserves to feel safe and heard, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. By supporting this event, we aim to bring about positive change and create greater understanding for everyone.”
Penny MacDivitt, Founder and Chair of Chippenham Pride said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Siemens Mobility for the second annual Chippenham Pride. Their generous support directly contributed to our efforts in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and striving for a future free from discrimination, where all individuals have equal rights."
The company is celebrating Pride throughout June with several special events including, a fireside chat with Gareth Thomas, former captain of the Welsh Rugby Union. Additionally, Siemens Mobility’s employee resource groups have created an allyship guide to help change perceptions and provide support and guidance on LGBT+ matters and issues. Beyond Pride month, Siemens Mobility will be sponsoring upcoming Ashby and Goole Prides on 10 August and 17 August respectively.
