Siemens Mobility has released its 2024 Social Value report which highlights its progress in delivering against social value goals, along with its ambitions for further embedding social value into business practices.
In 2024, Siemens Mobility initiatives included:
- Promoting railway safety: Partnering with Rail Safe Friendly to educate young people at 101 schools nationwide on the dangers of railway trespassing.
- Collaborating with schools in Wales: Having its Core Valley Line project team boost STEM engagement across five schools and reach over 100 children in the Newport area.
- Supporting individuals with disabilities: Led by Senior Engineer Chris Harris, whose daughter benefits from the charity’s support, Siemens Mobility backed Diverse Abilities with a £2,000 donation and over 300 hours of volunteering.
- Enhancing local railways: Supporting the Community Rail Network, a grassroots movement, with employees volunteering in various initiatives such as station improvements at Welwyn Garden City Station. Taking its commitment a step further, the company also has an employee sitting as a board member for Chippenham’s local Community Rail Partnership (CRP) TransWilts.
- Inspiring future engineers: Working with the Primary Engineer programme to engage 1,161 pupils in STEM sessions and welcoming six special education needs (SEND) interns at its Goole Rail Village.

The report is focused on core themes of Employment, Skills and Education, Wellbeing, Natural Environment, Responsible Procurement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, all underpinned by a commitment to doing the right thing. Using the Rail Social Value Tool (RSVT), Siemens Mobility has measured its impact for 2023-2024 with selected case studies.
