Siemens in Lincoln wins its largest ever gas turbine service order

Siemens Service business in Lincoln has been awarded a multi-million pound long-term service agreement for major liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Australia

Lincoln, 2012-May-10

Siemens Service in Lincoln has been awarded a contract to provide long-term maintenance services for the pioneering Santos GNLG Project in Queensland, Australia. The multi-million dollar pound order is Siemens’ largest ever for its small gas turbine (SGT) service product line, which is based in Lincoln. The customer is Santos GLNG which is a joint venture between Santos, PETRONAS, Total and KOGAS.

The latest contract win underlines the success of Siemens' gas turbine service business in Lincoln over the last few years. With bumper sales figures and a full order book, the business has been investing in new facilities and products. In September this year the business will move into brand new purpose built facility at Teal Park in Lincoln. This new service centre and office complex will provide a modern professional environment for customers and employees.

As Neil Corner, director, Siemens Service, Lincoln said: "This latest order win is fantastic news for our service business in Lincoln. It is the largest-ever order for this product line, and we are extremely proud that this happened here. The local team worked exceptionally hard, demonstrating dedication and professionalism throughout. The win underlines our excellent performance and prospects going forward."

The six-year contract includes preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, parts supply, and field service for 16 SGT-400 industrial gas turbines (nine generator sets and seven compressor sets) spread across three Santos GLNG sites. The agreement will help to ensure predictable reliability and maintenance costs for the SGT-400 gas turbines at the Santos GLNG Project, and contributes to creating a cleaner fuel for the future.
