Poole, UK, 2017-Dec-06
ITS (UK) is the national association for the promotion of Intelligent Transport Systems, drawing together active players and interested parties, by means of targeted Interest Groups, Task Forces and others to lead the debate about and knowledge of ITS deployment.
As part of the day’s programme, a group of local students joined a networking lunch followed by a seminar with key speakers from industry and an open debate to explore views on transport, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers and workforce diversity.
According to ITS (UK) Secretary General, Jennie Martin, women make excellent engineers and ITS practitioners. “Women in ITS aims to promote diversity in industry and encourage more women to consider a career in transport management and engineering by demonstrating the success of others who currently work in ITS at Siemens and across the ITS industry in the UK ”, she said.
Siemens was established in the United Kingdom more than 170 years ago and now employs 15,000 people in the UK. As the world’s largest engineering company, Siemens provides innovative solutions to help tackle the world’s major challenges. Siemens has offices and factories throughout the UK, with its headquarters in Frimley, Surrey.
