Nottingham recently played host to a System Optimisation Day. The event, which took place at Eastwood Hall Hotel was tailored specifically for ACUSON S2000TM ultrasound system users and provided delegates with a wide-ranging overview of the system’s features. Live scan demonstrations together with Q&A sessions also served to further familiarise clinical users with the system and to enhance clinical confidence.
The ACUSON S2000’s key features include its high-density transducers, which deliver exquisite detail resolution allowing clinical users to resolve fine tissue detail and syngo® Auto OB Measurements, a semi automated measurement tool for standard fetal biometric measurements. syngo Auto OB provides up to a 75% reduction in keystrokes helping to reduce exam time and substantially improve the consistency of serial measurements.
Siemens representatives were readily available to offer instruction and guidance on how best to utilise the system. The overall aim was to inform and broaden knowledge, ensuring that users are able to drive the system to its full potential. Siemens provided three separate hands on sessions focusing on image optimisation, technical explanations of the machine’s key applications, as well as a practical Doppler session. These were interspersed with structured presentations on image optimising techniques, Siemens ultrasound technologies and ergonomics.
“The day was excellent, and really helped to increase attendees’ confidence in using the system to its full capabilities,” states Kathryn Manderson, Superintendent Ultrasonographer at Nottingham City Hospital and Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre. “The practical demonstrations were extremely well presented and supported with an application specialist performing the functions on the machine so that the images shown were live and not just static pictures.”
“Delegates were thrilled to be able to be provided with vital hands on training that will help them to scan with their ACUSON S2000 more effectively,” states Bernadette Leonard, UK Business Manager for Ultrasound Products at Siemens Healthcare. “Siemens holds a number of training events each year across the UK, and we look forward to continuing our positive relationship with ultrasound professionals into the future by providing the support needed to enhance clinical practice.”
