Siemens Healthcare recently hosted a two-day CT user group at Crewe Hall, Cheshire. The forum was designed to share best-practice on CT procedures and extend clinical and technological knowledge. A number of speaker sessions were delivered by delegates on a range of clinical subjects ranging from cardiac CT, new imaging protocols, interventional procedures, CT urograms to CT angiography.
The event was attended by over 60 delegates including superintendent radiographers, consultant radiologists and imaging leads from sites such as Royal Marsden Hospital, Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, Spire Cardiff Hospital and others. Question and answer sessions with Siemens application specialists also provided attendees with detailed solutions to clinical and technical queries.
“Our CT user group gives attendees a chance to engage with like-minded peers and enhance their understanding of the CT principles most useful to them,” states Russell Lodge, CT Business Manager at Siemens Healthcare. “Not only is it an educational forum, but an opportunity to share opinions on the hot topics in CT and the challenges radiologists and radiographers are facing in the UK today. The feedback we have received from delegates has been very positive and we look forward to repeating the forum in the future.”
“The CT user group provides a great opportunity to network with other Siemens CT users, share experiences and ensure best practice,” states Olivia Egan, CT Superintendent Radiographer at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. “It’s a useful forum to see how other healthcare providers are working and whether anything can be learnt from that. We were involved in the beta testing of dose-optimisation technology CARE kV, and the session on this was very clear and demonstrated the features in excellent detail. I similarly enjoyed the session on cardiac angiography scans of unusual clinical presentations.”
