Digital Networks Limited (DNL), a provider of marketing and online services to the asset finance industry, has published independent research pinpointing Siemens Financial Services as the leading provider of asset finance to the public sector.
Calculated by value of assets financed, Siemens is shown to have a market share of nearly a quarter (23.7%), a testimony to the company’s ability to help a wide variety of public sector bodies, including the NHS and local authorities, meet the financial chal-lenges they face.
The statistics are taken from an end-of-year report on the asset financing market, pub-lished by DNL and based on a combination of publicly-available data from the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) and proprietary financial data from public sector advisors. DNL uses the data to build an accurate and independent picture of the asset finance market in the UK public sector. The report is published every April and has been running since 2004.
David Martin, Head of Public Sector, Siemens Financial Services, commented: “We're delighted to hear that this piece of research has positioned us as the leading provider of asset finance to the public sector. This proves that our decision to focus on a service-led, best value approach was the right one.
“The public sector is, quite rightly, a sophisticated and demanding customer, and we’ve demonstrated that we’re able to provide the right level of market knowledge coupled with financial expertise to satisfy their unique needs.”
David Shone, Director of DNL, added: “Since we first started our independent analysis of the public sector asset finance market, Siemens has steadily risen up the rankings and is now firmly top of the table of UK lessors. The sector is very competitive and as the demand for alternative finance has grown, there have been many new market en-trants over the last couple of years. But it seems that track-record and niche specialism instil the greatest confidence in the public sector.”
Siemens Financial Services counts 45% of NHS Trusts and over 160 local authorities amongst its client base. In February of this year, Siemens announced the formation of a new business division, Siemens Healthcare Finance, focused solely on addressing the highly specialist financial needs of the UK healthcare market.
