For over two years, employees at Hebburn based Siemens have been working with the local charities to help our community. Each month food donations are sent to working families who sometimes struggle to feed their family or to the soup kitchens in the local area. Clothes are also donated and a raffle is held every couple of month with 100% of the proceeds going to the charities.

Donna Foggon and Jackie McCaffery are Siemens employees involved in organising this charity work they said “The Hospitality and Hope centre provides a warm meal and a chance to get some clean clothes for many families in South Tyneside. Our team in Hebburn are passionate about supporting our local community and we should do what we can for those who have not been so lucky in life”.

Employees have also been helping Children North East Christmas Appeal by donating toys for children who without the charity may not receive a gift at all this Christmas.

Malcolm Frostwick Head of the Sports & Social Committee at Siemens said; “We want to be more than just a building; we want to be a part of the local community and feel we have a responsibility to do our bit for the less fortunate in South Shields and the surrounding area. Supporting these charities is close to our hearts.”

Joe Winder from Hospitality and Hope said “Siemens’ generosity and kindness reflects the best in which this organisation was founded and helps us to help those in need. Joe continues, “We have come a long way since our founding in 2002, and we can only make a difference with the help and support of businesses like Siemens”.

Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser at Children North East said; “Christmas plays a large role in family life and can be the cause of a lot of stress and anxiety for the families and young people we work with, but the Christmas Appeal alleviates some of the pressure on them. This amazing generosity from Siemens will help us to provide families with some joy at Christmas and help create good memories for the whole family that will last.”
