Poole, 2013-May-15
Agreement was reached with Electric Corby recently to install Siemens charging points for electric vehicles at the first of 10 locations in Corby and nearby Rockingham, with a further 8 locations being finalised.
At Arrive’n’Drive, Siemens will showcase the company's proven electromobility solutions for the UK Electric Vehicle market and Electric Corby will demonstrate the new Siemens EV charge points already installed at Rockingham as part of the new network in Corby.
The network will further strengthen Corby’s position as a leading edge location for ‘cleantech’ business investment, and bolster the wider ‘Plugged in Midlands’ programme and a growing national network of chargers supporting the emerging market for electric cars and light goods vehicles. With the support of Corby Borough Council, the latest Siemens EV chargingequipment will be installed over the coming weeks.
Siemens charging solutions are designed, built and installed for long term field deployment and high levels of usage making them the sensible long-term technology choice. Furthermore, Siemens’ eMosphere back-office network management software provides a fully integrated platform for managing any electric vehicle charging network.
Mark Bonnor-Moris, Siemens’ Head of Electromobility, UK and Ireland said: ‘Our electric vehicle charging solutions are built on four key principles; industry leading fast charging technology, modular back-office control and management software, extensive contact centre capabilities and comprehensive service packages.
All are tailored to meet individual customer requirements and ensure maximum system availability and safety. Siemens charging solutions are designed, built and installed for long term field deployment and high levels of usage making them the sensible long-term technology choice.’
Siemens is a delivery partner for Source London, the Capital’s plan to develop the UK’s largest electric vehicle charge point network with more charge points than petrol stations in the city, providing IT and services for the back office operations. Siemens capabilities in the Electric Vehicle market extend significantly further, from charging infrastructure and software to service maintenance, call-centre management and fleet services.
In addition to comprehensive back office solutions for load and tariff management, Siemens also provides a full supply, installation and maintenance service. As the UK’s largest provider of traffic control and signalling equipment, the company has a specialist field service operation that is able to support EV charging infrastructure as part of a much larger portfolio of work. This ensures that the EV chargers are maintained to a high and consistent service level ensuring the highest performance in terms of availability and safety.
