This is the seventh Queen’s Award win for Siemens Magnet Technology. The business has received Queen’s Awards in recognition of its high-tech achievements, export success, innovation and contribution to the development of MRI technology.
Roland Aurich, Chief Executive, Siemens plc, said: “We are delighted to have won this award, the seventh for the business, which is a fantastic achievement. Being recognised again in this way is testament to our highly skilled, innovative and flexible employees who continue to produce the world’s best superconducting magnets for MRI systems.”
Craig Marshall, Managing Director at Siemens Magnet Technology, said: “I am extraordinarily proud of what we have achieved. This is a great result for the business and provides further proof of our commitment to innovation.
“The mission statement of Siemens Healthcare is ‘We innovate to advance human health’, and at Siemens Magnet Technology innovation is indeed our lifeblood. In business generally it is a question of innovate or die and therefore it is particularly rewarding to receive this Queen’s Award, which recognises the caliber of our innovative product solutions which serve the global market. I wish to personally thank every member of the team in Eynsham for their contribution each one of them has played a part in making this possible.
“As a progressive manufacturing business we operate efficient processes in all areas, in particular running a lean factory by minimizing inventory of hardware, the one exception to this rule is the trophy cabinet which is now at breaking point, this is what I call a nice problem!”
