By streamlining the panel of firms to three, Siemens aims to develop much deeper relationships between the in-house Siemens team and the panel, to engender a better understanding by the panel firms of the Siemens businesses and to create greater efficiencies and value for the UK organisation.

Claire Carless, Siemens General Counsel for the UK and North West Europe said: “We interviewed a very strong field and I am delighted with our three new UK panel firms, all of whom demonstrated exemplary legal capability and a willingness to collaborate and complement our own in-house team. We are looking forward to working with our new panel firms to deliver world-class legal support, and innovative legal solutions, to Siemens in the UK.”

Claire Carless, appointed by Siemens in 2012, leads a team of over 80 lawyers and contract managers and a team of 6 compliance experts in the UK. The legal team operates across the UK and is aligned to Siemens’ four business sectors, Energy, Healthcare, Industry and Infrastructure & Cities, and in addition supports the cross-sector businesses including Siemens Financial Services.

“Eversheds is at the forefront of working with in-house teams to deliver legal services through innovative, cost efficient and productive solutions. We look forward to working collaboratively with Siemens and the other panel firms in order to deliver real value to their business.”

“Osborne Clarke is really looking forward to working with Siemens’ highly-regarded in-house team to help them realise some of their exciting projects over the coming years. Siemens provides solutions across key sectors like Energy, Industry, Infrastructure, Healthcare and Financial Services and our own sector-focused approach is going to allow us to tailor our advice to their specific business objectives. The fact that we are able to offer specialist sector knowledge, backed up by a full service legal offering, is a very powerful proposition.”
