Siemens and Spire in tech partnership

Leading healthcare company, Spire Healthcare, has partnered with Siemens PLC(UK & Ireland) and Siemens Healthineers to invest in the latest healthcare,automation and building technologies as part of its new hospital which recentlyopened in Didsbury, Manchester.

Spire Healthcare has invested in a number of advanced healthcare technologies from Siemens Healthineers including MRI and CT scanners, the latest digital 3D mammography machine, a high-end ceiling-mounted digital x-ray machine, and the latest surgical x-ray tables used for interventional imaging.

Spire Healthcare also invested in the latest wireless digital mobile x-ray imaging devices as well as the latest healthcare data analytics technologies that offer molecular imaging applications for oncology.

The Spire Healthcare development has been built next to the Siemens building on Princess Parkway - and is part of plans to make Manchester a global capital for healthcare.

Designed with extensive input from consultants, staff and patients, this leading edge facility comprises six operating theatres; 76 patient beds (inpatient and day-case) and 23 outpatient consulting and treatment rooms.

Spire Manchester Hospital’s director Alison da Silva said: “When we originally announced our plans to invest in south Manchester we also made a clear commitment that our hospital would have the latest and most advanced healthcare technologies – so we are delighted to announce this significant investment with Siemens technologies. Critically these technology investments will enhance the patient experience, which for us is vitally important to our success and their care.”

Spire Healthcare has also invested heavily in the latest Siemens Building Management Systems including the latest automation solutions, energy management systems, and supporting advanced data analytics. The hospital ventilation systems are powered by Siemens advanced Sinamics automation technologies.
