Rob Morris joined Siemens Mobility, Rail Infrastructure (RI) in January 2015, as the Director of Operations and took the role of Managing Director, RI in 2017. He has a career spanning five decades in multi-disciplined major projects working for mining, power, general construction, and technology-based businesses both internationally and in the UK.

He took up the post of UK Finance Director at Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock and Customer Services (RS/CS) in 2013 before being appointed Managing Director for RS/CS in 2019.

Julie Owen, CFO and Chair of the Board of Directors, said;

“I am delighted to welcome Rob and Sambit, with their wealth of experience, to the Siemens Mobility Limited Board and I’m looking forward to continuing our work delivering for our customers and helping transform rail travel in the UK. Of the many projects we are delivering, I’m excited that our new rail village in Goole will shortly commence manufacturing trains and add to our existing rail infrastructure manufacturing sites in Chippenham and Ashby - all of which have a significant impact on growth and skills in our local communities.”

Rob Morris, joint CEO of Siemens Mobility said;

“Whether it is enabling 200 million journeys on the Elizabeth line through our signalling and control systems, working collaboratively to bring digital signalling and power to the East Coast Main Line, or electrifying and signalling the TransPennine Route along which our Class 185 trains run, we touch the lives of so many.

"I’m excited to be joint CEO alongside Sambit. Being part of such a strong leadership team means we are in a good position to continue delivering for our customers in the UK, transforming communities, societies and economies.”

Sambit Banerjee, joint CEO of Siemens Mobility said;

“It’s an honour to be given the opportunity to carry on Siemens Mobility’s strong heritage and track record in serving our clients. We will continue to build on this and work closely not just with our customers, but in the neighbourhoods we are based across the UK, from Southampton to Scotland. This is a truly exciting time to be in the UK market with a number of future opportunities.”

Siemens Mobility has a strong local footprint in the UK with three manufacturing facilities in Chippenham, Wiltshire, Ashby, Leicestershire and & Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, and more than 30 sites employing over 5,000 people and 3,000 suppliers, 47% of which are UK-based SMEs. Siemens Mobility trains make up almost a quarter of UK passenger trains and e320 Velaro Eurostar trains.
