Frimley, 2013-May-03
Training is well underway for a group of volunteers from Siemens undertaking the 300km Vätternrundan (pronounced vet-turn-rund-an) challenge in Sweden on June 14th. They each have just 24 hours to complete the circuit and they are aiming to raise over £5000 for the British Heart Foundation and a hospice local to the UK Headquarters in Frimley, Phyllis Tuckwell.
There is a wide range of abilities in the team but all are confident of completing, albeit some will be quicker than others.
Taking part in the challenge, Louise Malyon, said: “Some of us completed the three peaks challenge 2 years ago and we wanted to find another company challenge - 300km within 24 hours around a lake in Sweden certainly seemed to fit the bill. As a team we decided that we wanted to raise awareness for both Phyllis Tuckwell and the British Heart Foundation and we really hope that the scale of this challenge will spur people on to donate to these fantastic causes.”
