Lucy Rigby MP, recently elected to represent Northampton North, visited the Siemens Mobility Kings Heath Depot last Wednesday. The purpose of her visit was to meet with the local team and tour the state-of-the-art facilities where she witnessed the servicing of the West Midlands Trains.
During her visit, Ms. Rigby was given a tour of the site by Fleet Delivery Manager, Craig Walker, where she met with local employees and West Midlands Trains partners. The Northamptonshire depot is responsible for the maintenance of trains for West Midlands Trains and plays an important role in serving both West and East Midlands Trains.

During the tour, Siemens Mobility showcased its close partnership with the cutting-edge National Training Academy and Rail (NTAR) facility, and Ms. Rigby met with local apprentices and talent.
There are currently eight new apprentice and degree apprentices learning their trade at the Depot facility, with over 120 employees based at the Northamptonshire site overall.
The MP was able to learn about the history of the site and gain insights into Siemens Mobility’s plans for investment and growth in the local area. One of the highlights of the visit was witnessing the skills and expertise required to maintain trains. The local Labour MP was able to see firsthand the important role Siemens Mobility plays in job creation and upskilling the local rail industry. The company's commitment to nurturing the next generation of engineers was evident as the MP had the pleasure of meeting some of their apprentices during the visit.
