“Patient experience is of utmost importance to us and the recently installed Siemens systems help our patients feel comfortable and relaxed, particularly those with claustrophobia,” states Desiree Naidoo, Superintendent Radiographer at the Candover Clinic. “The ease-of-use and short scan times are also having a big impact on patient throughput, which allows the clinic to work as efficiently as possible while giving a rapid and effective service to our patients.”
The MAGNETOM Aera was chosen for its ease of use, excellent image quality and cardiac imaging features. The hospital is supporting its work with the Cardiac Dot Engine application which offers automated planning of all cardiac views with AutoAlign Heart. Examination strategies can be selected based on the patient’s physiological conditions, and all protocols are adapted accordingly.
The SOMATOM Definition AS is being used for a wide range of procedures, and staff have noted that they are finding the short scan times and easy-to-use interface helpful with workflow, allowing them to maximise clinical outcomes and provide more time for patients. It also features CARE (Combined Applications to Reduce Dose) to ensure the right dose for enhanced patient wellbeing and optimum image quality.
Paul Vaughan, Regional Sales Manager at Siemens Healthcare states, “The new Candover Clinic in Basingstoke prides itself in offering the most up to date facilities for patients choosing private healthcare. The CT and MR systems provide a comfortable experience and are allowing the hospital to offer a rapid service, which ensures patients receive a diagnosis in a timely manner.”
