Nick Crossfield
Chief executive of Invensys Rail Systems since 2010, Mr. Crossfield assumes his new role with the conclusion of Siemens’ acquisition of Invensys Rail and the start of the company’s integration into the rail automation business of the Mobility and Logistics Division at Siemens.
Mr. Crossfield will be based at the Invensys Rail Systems facility in Chippenham, which is to become the main UK base for Siemens Rail Automation and a regional manufacturing and R&D centre for Siemens Rail Automation globally.

Nick Crossfield has more than 16 years' experience in senior positions in a range of international industrial and professional services organisations, including Corus and Bayer AG. Prior to his tenure at Invensys Rail, Crossfield was a director at Network Rail responsible for a major refocusing of commercial operations.

Invensys Rail is a leading global supplier of signalling and control equipment for rail, and has a strong footprint and a well established reputation in its domestic markets UK, Spain, the US and Australia. The combined strength of both organisations will extend Siemens Rail Automation’s existing presence in the domestic markets Germany, Austria, Switzerland as well as China and India. In recent years, Invensys Rail has successfully expanded its business into fast-growing emerging regions.
Siemens and Invensys Rail are already successfully collaborating on key global projects, one of which is the automation of the 21-kilometre tunnel for London’s “Crossrail” project.
Nick Crossfield has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Reading and an MBA from the University of Warwick. He has been Business Unit President and Managing Director of Invensys Rail since June 2010.
