Mpac Lambert Selects Siemens Digital Industries as ‘Digital Platform Partner’

Siemens Digital Industries and Mpac Lambert have entered into a ‘Digital Platform Partner’ accord covering Mpac Group plc’s UK operations.

The relationship was sealed at Siemens UK’s headquarters in Manchester.

Under the new relationship, Siemens Digital Industries will function as a partner to supply end-to-end solutions to Mpac Lambert, customised for designing and building world-class machines specialised in dosing and packaging solutions for the healthcare, medical and consumer goods sectors.

Tony Steels, Chief Executive Officer, Mpac Group plc., said: “We have built a strong reputation for delivering outstanding products and exceptional service for over 107 years.

“We invest in our people, our supply chain and our customers to create an eco-system that allows us to find ingenious engineering solutions. Our currency is innovation. We are always looking at new ways of embedding technology into problem-solving.

“Our digital partnership with Siemens will enable us to co-create solutions with digital technologies, make sense of the data and, most crucially, develop it so that we can address customer needs to provide bespoke solutions.”

Siemens will support the original equipment manufacturer in its value chain with planning and design, engineering and the ordering process to installation. The holistic portfolio of total integrated automation, Internet of Things (IoT), software solutions is included in the partnership.

The cooperation will boost Mpac Lambert’s robustness and efficiency in delivering digitally scalable machines to its global clients.

Brian Holliday, Siemens Digital Industries, Managing Director UK, said: "Mpac is an innovation-driven company undergoing an exciting period of change as it embraces the next level of digital technologies to enable it to address customer needs and reduce time to market.”

Siemens’ extensive portfolio with cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, edge computing, industrial 5G, autonomous handling systems, blockchain and 3D additive manufacturing will enhance Mpac’s digital prowess in machine manufacturing.

Furthermore, Siemens’ cloud-based MindSphere the open IoT operating system will help interconnect products, plants, systems and machines – and analyse the data to deliver targeted optimisations.

Holliday concluded: “This new transformative partnership will deliver significant business benefits to Mpac as we move into a new decade. We are looking forward to the collaboration which is just the start of a progressive journey for both of our businesses."
