Formula for Thrills has been developed by Siemens in collaboration with Thorpe Park Resort and Ten Alps Communicate to put mathematical and scientific ideas in a variety of contexts based around a theme park and rollercoaster ride, helping to reflect the real world applications of maths and science.
The teachers had the opportunity to experience the resources first hand with a free CPD training session, plus an exciting behind-the-scenes tour of the park. Many of them commented how inspiring the resources were for linking maths and science to a real-world scenario and that they would be taking them back to share with colleagues and use in the classroom.
Jack Du Pille, Education Manager at Thorpe Park Resort commented,” Collaborating with Siemens and Ten Alps Communicate on Formula for Thrills was a fantastic experience. We are thrilled with the fusion of useful curriculum based material and inspirational context provided an inspiring learning tool. Ten Alps were fantastic in proposing this vision and delivering the learning tools. The execution of the event was flawless and we left some teachers re-inspired and enthusiastic for delivering engaging STEM based lessons.”
Formula for Thrills is the latest interactive resource forming part of a wide range of educational resources, supporting and encouraging progression in STEM based subjects and skills for ages 7 years upwards.
