Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) awards £6.7 million contract to Siemens

United KingdomSiemens Business Services today announced that it has been selected to manage the ‘Work Permits’ and ‘Leave to Remain’ application payment process for the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) in the UK. In a contract valued at £6.7 million over three years, with a possible extension for 2 years, Siemens will manage this process from receipt of applications, through recording details of the applications and processing of payments through to submission to the IND for consideration and decision.

Two main operational sites and teams have been created for Siemens to deliver this service to the IND. A team in Durham will process all Leave to Remain and specific Work Permit applications, whilst a Sheffield-based operation will concentrate on managing Work Permit applications that have tight Service Level Agreements attached to them. In addition to the main operational sites, Siemens will take responsibility for managing the cashiering functions at the IND’s Public Enquiry Offices in locations around the UK including Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham and Croydon. Service is expected to commence at each site at various dates throughout the summer of 2006.
