Martin Read – biography
Martin Read is a non-executive director of British Airways and a senior adviser to Candover Partners. He was chief executive of international IT services company Logica for fourteen years, leading its transformation from a largely UK-based business of circa 3,000 people in 1993 to a major international operation of around 40,000 people in 41 countries in 2007. Martin has served as a non-executive director of Boots (1999-2006) and ASDA (1996-1999). Prior to 1993, he was supervisory managing director of the GEC-Marconi Radar and Control Systems group of companies. Martin is a member of the CBI’s International Advisory Board, a director of homelessness charity Shelter and a trustee of the Council for Industry and Higher Education.
