Alan Wood to stand down as Chief Executive and become Chairman of Siemens in the UK

Tom White to become Siemens UK Chief Executive on 1st October

It was announced today that with effect from 1st October 2007, Tom White, currently Managing Director of Siemens IT Solutions & Services Limited, will succeed Alan Wood CBE as Chief Executive of Siemens plc.

Alan Wood, who joined Siemens in 1981 and has been Chief Executive in the UK since 1998, will become Chairman of the Board of Siemens Holdings plc. Jürgen Gehrels, the current Chairman, will retire.

Alan Wood said: “I have really enjoyed the last nine years as Chief Executive. It has been an exciting period in which Siemens in the UK has grown considerably and achieved financial success.“ In a note to colleagues he thanked employees for their hard work and immense support during his time in office and he wished his successor, Tom White, continuing success.

Tom White said: “It is a great privilege to have been appointed to take over the role of Chief Executive for Siemens in the UK. There are exciting opportunities ahead for us to build on the success that the company and our employees have achieved to date.”
