Advanced rail solutions from Siemens Mobility Limited at Railtex

  • A wide range of intelligent infrastructure on display – showcasing solutions for connected mobility
  • Visitors will see how digitalisation is helping operators worldwide benefit from intelligent trains and infrastructure

With market leading capability in the development and delivery of vehicles, equipment and infrastructure, Siemens Mobility Limited is showcasing a broad range of integrated rail solutions at Railtex 2019.

Gordon Wakeford, CEO, Siemens Mobility Limited, said: “Railtex is an opportunity for us to demonstrate how we use digitalisation to benefit mobility operators worldwide.”

“Our solutions not only include intelligent trains and infrastructure, but also cover the ability to increase value over the entire lifecycle of assets and the importance of an enhanced passenger experience.”

Visitors to the exhibition will experience the benefits of digital technology through an Automatic Train Operation simulator, as well as to discuss some of the many applications the company has developed - including its remote condition monitoring and connected-drive advisory systems.

The stand also showcases Siemens Mobility’s rail electrification capability, with its comprehensive range covering the complete spectrum of requirements for OLE, AC and DC electrified railways. This includes the company’s static frequency converter analyser, which helps optimise energy use and ensure a high degree of availability.

Elsewhere is a spotlight on enhancing the passenger experience, with the technology incorporated in the Siemens Velaro Novo high speed train at the heart of the display. Alongside is a showcase of the company’s metro capabilities, together with examples of solutions developed for smart ticketing, passenger information systems, passenger flow and station information systems.

The company’s stand also has an area dedicated to its maintenance solutions, demonstrating its broad range of capabilities. Operating from some of the most advanced depots in the UK, the company’s teams maintain over 450 Siemens Mobility passenger trains, which run over 65 million miles a year.

Finally, there is an ‘innovation station’ for visitors to explore. This area showcases some of the research projects and plans that are in development, some, if not all of which, will undoubtedly help to shape the future railway.

The Siemens Mobility team is available to discuss rail developments throughout the Railtex event (taking place from 14-16 May at the NEC in Birmingham). Visitors are encouraged to visit the stand (E51-D51) and visit the dedicated Railtex website www.siemens.co.uk/railtex for more information.
